This chapter describes the design, implementation, & qualitative evaluation of a school-based pilot group psychotherapy program for adolescents who directly sustained violent injury or who witnessed the violent injury or death of a close friend or family member. “Wounded adolescence” refers to the profound developmental impact of violent traumatization among adolescents. From postgroup evaluative essays, self-report measures, & a 13-month follow-up interview, it was found that significant progress was made by group members in achieving the therapeutic goals.
