The objectives of this chapter are: 1) to examine the trend of elderly suicides in Hong Kong over the past 17 years (1981-1997); 2) to describe the socioeconomic characteristics of suicide in the elderly; & 3) to identify the high risk factors for suicide in the elderly. (27 refs.)
