This document presents the Australian Capital Territory’s (ACT) first youth suicide prevention strategy. The document describes the national policy context & the ACT policy context; the goals of the ACT strategy, ACT demography & youth suicide in the ACT; current service provision; future needs; strategies & actions for further development. The strategy attempts to improve the response to youth suicide in the following areas: prevention; early intervention; intervention; postvention; information & communication; coordination, planning, & evaluation.
