In this letter to the editor, Crocetti discusses his study of mortality data from the Tuscany region of central Italy for the period 1987-1998, focusing on suicide pacts. Overall, 16 subjects (8 pairs) were identified as participating in pacts which led to the suicide of both parties. The age of victims ranged from 17-64 years among males & 27-72 years among females. Three male-male pairs were close relatives. Of the five male-female pairs, 3 were husband & wife pairs. (7 refs.)
