In this letter to the editor, the authors question the conclusion of Gambetta (1999) that the manner of Primo Levi’s death can be as easily ruled an accident as suicide. Taff & Boglioli are critical of Gambetta’s methodology & lack of scientific objectivity. They address the issue of the social stigma sometimes attached to a ruling of suicide.
