Abstract
Psychosocial Risk Factors Contributing to Adolescent Suicidal Ideation
Harter S~~Marold D B
In this paper, the evidence for the postulated links in a model of suicidal ideation is reviewed. The authors then discuss their own findings on the best-fitting model for adolescents. Findings comparing a normative sample to a clinical sample of adolescent inpatients diagnosed with depression are presented. The use of self-report measures in identifying adolescents at risk is examined. Lastly, the issue of general models versus the identification of subgroups of adolescents with different pathways to, & profiles of, depressive symptomatology is discussed. (89 refs.)
