The Griffith Early Intervention Project has been involved in the national distribution of the Resourceful Adolescent Program for the prevention of depression in young people in Australia. The Resourceful Adolescent Program for parents has been adapted from this program & aims to provide an opportunity for parents to reflect on their personal strengths on the assumption that the self-esteem & confidence of parents are fundamental to effectively promoting self-esteem & confidence in their children. This paper describes the process of modifying the program for indigenous communities. The consultation process is described as is the program content & the context in which it is to be implemented, adjunct treatments, & future directions.
