This article reports on the psychiatric manifestations of Huntington’s disease in a Malaysian family. A 32-year-old female presented to a psychiatric clinic with a history of personality change & abnormal movements. Investigation & observation found that other members of the family also had Huntington’s disease. The mother also had abnormal movements & was recorded to be depressed & as having twice attempted suicide. Psychiatric presentation of Huntington’s disease is prominent in this family & preceded the characteristic movements in the present generation. (3 refs.)
