This letter to the editor discusses an apparent decreased risk of suicide in renal transplant patients on cyclosporin. 437 patients who underwent a renal transplant between 1969-1990 at a Swiss hospital were studied. There were 6 suicides in this group. The reason for the lower suicide rate is unclear. The authors call for further research with larger groups of patients. (1 ref.)
