This presentation discussed how schools in the state of Victoria, Australia decided to use funds provided by the government for suicide prevention. The strategies employed by the Goulburn North East Region were described in detail. Each school community was seen as having unique needs & existing resouces, & differing expectations from students, parents, & staff. A survey was designed to identify similarities & differences within & between communities so common issues could be addressed economically while individual needs were also met. Resulting data indicated some specific areas of help for schools & parents dealing with youth suicide.
