Local and Intersectoral: the Results of the Youth Suicide Prevention Satellite Education Program

This presentation discussed the evaluation of a satellite education broadcast held in August 1998. The program was based on the ‘Keep Yourself Alive’ kit & was designed to provide health & community professionals with an appreciation of risk indicators of suicide, options for intervention, & postvention after an attempt. General comments from the evaluation reflected a high level of appreciation for the broadcast although there was concern that some issues unique to rural Australia were not sufficient addressed.
