This article provides an overview of the ‘Here for Life’ Youth Sexuality Project & some of the major outcomes & learnings. 4 groups of strategies for the prevention of suicide & self-harm in young people with same sex attractions were developed: peer support, community development & promotion, professional development & training, & therapy. Results in each of these areas are discussed. Key learnings in areas such as the central role of young people, changing concepts of identity & experiences, a “whole of school” approach to combat homophobia, & the training of youth workers are discussed.
