This project aimed to educate professionals so that they can play a constructive future role in reducing the impact of suicide & self-harm, & have a strong commitment to playing such a role. The project objectives included a survey of Australian university courses particularly in medicine, nursing, secondary education & journalism; development of curriculum resources for each of these disciplines; & field trials of the resources with further development & revision as necessary. The evaluation of the project shows objectives were fully achieved for the targeted disciplines. Students expressed a strong belief the resources helped them to learn about & develop an interest in youth suicide prevention.
