Lives on the Line… Youth Suicide as Told by the Young Australians who Have Contacted Kids Help Line

This report presents the details of 6,429 suicide-related calls made to the Kids Help Line between March 1991 & August 1997. Data is analyzed in terms of gender, age, severity, ethnicity, living arrangements, time of day, call duration, geographical breakdown, causal & contributing factors, & referrals to other agencies & support services. A discussion of the findings & recommendations for future research & service delivery for young peole who are at risk or have attempted suicide is presented in the final section of the report.
