This article has 3 purposes: 1) to describe the planning, implementation, & results of a theory-based intervention study involving 261 parents bereaved by the violent deaths of their children; 2) to suggest programmatic elements of bereavement services based on findings from the study & 5-year follow-up data; & 3) to identify future research & theory development needs.
