Building on a 1997 paper by Lester (see SIEC #971271) on shame & suicide, the case of a woman who made a serious attempt to kill herself is presented. Her attempt was largely motivated by shame. The therapeutic strategies employed are described. The case was brought to a successful resolution. (6 refs.)
