Evaluation of the Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation (BSS), the Personality Assessment Inventory Suicide Ideation Scale (PAI-SUI), and the Suciide Probability Scale (SPS)

This study examined the reliability & validity of the Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation, the Personality Assessment Inventory Suicide Ideation Scale & the Suicide Probability Scale. All instruments were found to have reliability & validity. The Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation & Suicide Probability Scale seem acceptable as screening devices as they are shorter. The Personality Assessment Inventory Suicide Ideation Scale seems more appropriate for a full assessment of psychological functioning.
