The Influence of Medical and Legal Authorities on Deaths Facilitated by Physicians

In this study, researchers attempt to show that physician assisted suicide rates are affected by media and legal/medical auhtorities. Researchers have used the case of Dr.Timothy Quill, whose editorial about assisted suicide became widely publicized. Researchers noticed that soon after Quill’s editorial, suicide and physician assisted suicide rates rose dramatically in patients such as the cancer patients that Quill had discussed.This article gives the testing methods and results of this study.
