In this autobiography,Grethe Paerregarrd discusses her upbringing and work in suicidology as Chief Physician at the Copenhagen County Psychiatry Hospital. Paerregarrd published a thesis entitled Attempted Suicide and Suicide in Copenhagen-a key work that describes the high number of suicide deaths in Denmark and factors contributing to these numbers. Paerregarrd recently retired from the suicidology field in the belief that new developments in suicide prevention will be increasingly negligible.
