In an attempt to ascertain the influence of personality disorders on the comorbidity of bipolar II patients, the authors studied a sample of these patients and compared those with a comorbid diagnosis of any personality disorder, and those with pure bipolar II disorder. Although the presence of personality disorder does not seem to modify significantly the course of bipolar II disorder, it could have a negative influence in suicidality and age of onset.
