This commentary discusses the prevalence of euthanasia in the American media, citing 60 Minutes’ airing of Dr. Jack Kevorkian giving a lethal injection to a patient. Enck distinguishes between physician-assisted suicide (PAS) & euthanasia. Details of prior cases of euthanasia are given, in which Enck notes that no physician has been prosecuted for murder following euthanasia or PAS. Enck expresses his frustration over this issue, which he feels overshadows good work being done by hospice care.
