This interactive session focused on whether it is appropriate for the media to report suicide. Panel members included a journalist who spoke about her experiences with the media following a bereavement, a former radio journalist who defined news & discussed why the media should report suicide; a researcher who discussed an apparent causal link between media coverage & cluster suicides, & a television journalist who discussed her perceptions of media responsibility when reporting suicide.
