In this brief letter to the editor, the authors describe the case of a 20-year-old female who sought treatment after 4 months of physical illness. She had also developed suicidal ideation. She was diagnosed with major depressive disorder & treated with paroxetine which was later discontinued when the patient experienced no relief of her depressed mood. Further examination revealed that the patient had Gaucher’s disease, a rare congenital glycolipid storage disease.
