The influence of suicide prevention centres on the total suicide rates in Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, & Ireland from the year prior to the establishment of the first centre to the year when the number of centres stopped growing (up to 1985) was explored. The Pearson correlations between the total suicide rate & the number of suicide prevention centres yielded inconsistent results for the various countries.
