A relationship between low cholesterol levels & suicide is explored in this paper. Studies involving relationships between cholesterol and mood, personality, agression & cognitive function are discussed. A study of cholesterol & behavior in adult monkeys found that low cholesterol levels increased suicidal activity. A link between low cholesterol levels & low serotonin levels is explored. Evolutionary reasons for this phenomenon are suggested. (96 refs.)
