441 members of the New Engand Oncology Nursing Society answered a mail survey which was an extension of a previous survey of oncology physicians. Respondents were asked about the frequency of & responses to patient requests for assisted suicide & euthanasia & the use of the healthcare team in response to these requests. Nurses were more likely than physicians to have performed patient-requested euthanasia. They often consulted with physicians about these requests, but rarely with one another.
