This article presents one of Dr. Kevorkian’s most controversial cases. In 1993, Kevorkian assisted 70-year-old Hugh Gale to die. Documentation discovered after Gale’s death indicated that he had attempted to change his mind & requested twice that the mask be taken off. This was only done once; Gale lapsed into unconsciousness after the second request & died. Investigation revealed that copies of the original document had been altered to conceal Gale’s second request. No charges were laid.
