The concept of salutogenesis (Antonovsky, 1971) was developed to better comprehend the course of chronic illness. This concept was examined in the context of suicidology & crisis intervention practice. The author argued that suicidal behaviours can usually be prevented by salutogenetic factors & that crisis intervention is not directed to the elimination of “suicidogenetic” factors but on the chance of longer life.
