The post-suicide attempt intervention performed by public health nurses as part of a community based “ombud-team” was evaluated. Other factors were evaluated but only motivation & supervision were discussed in this presentation. A utilization-focused evalution where team members formulated strategies & goals was chosen. Factors which were associated with the ability to work with suicidal patients are reviewed. It is suggested that these teams should operate with professional supervision.
