In this presentation, McVay gave a preview of a book that she is writing. She takes a holistic view of suicide, looking at a blend of the cultural, environmental, economic, psychological & physiological aspects of suicide, citing current research in each area. Particular emphasis is placed upon research related to biochemistry & depression/suicidal mind-body processes. The cultural aspects of suicide bereavement in American society were also addressed.
