The author reports on a study of spontaneous drawings & paintings done by schizophrenic & drug-addicted patients during depressive episodes. An analysis showed how crisis & life-events as well as suicidal ideation could be visualized in these art works. It is suggested that the art work could be helpful for diagnosis, suicide prevention, & therapy.
