Hussain describes a suicide prevention programme for doctors & support staff in Kuala Lumpur. The first step was to define the risk group(s) & examine the causes of parasuicide. The risk of completed suicide was studied in a one-year follow-up study. Problems encountered when managing suicidal patients were discussed.
