After summarizing the inmate suicide research presented in this special issue of Crisis, the editors make the following recommendations: Researchers should investigate which prevention measures may be most effective; more mental health/correctional staff partnerships should be developed; the community should be more involved with the problem of suicides within the correctional environment. Also, the international community should take more responsibility for inmate suicide prevention.
