Gay/Bisexual Male Youth: Overrepresented in Suicide Problems and Associated Risk Factors

Recent research indicates that gay & bisexual male adolescents are at a much greater risk for serious suicide attempts than heterosexual male adolescents. Mainstream suicidology has ignored homosexuality issues in research & in youth suicide prevention & intervention programs. An end is recommended to this counterproductive situation given that more than half of male youth suicide attempters may be gay or bisexual. (100 refs)
