In this paper the authors inform the readers about connections between psychiatric disorders and tinnitus(ringing in the ear). Once established, tinnitus becomes louder, more intrusive, and more disabling in the presence of depression. Physicians should be alert to the possibility of tinnitus being connected with delusional ideation and/or suicide attempts as well as depression.
