This study extends the analysis of the linkage between marital status & suicide ideology in a sample of 16 nations. It focuses on whether or not the relationship is gendered. Findings lend support to this relationship. In most nations, marriage lowers suicide risk for men. In contrast, in most nations marriage does not lower pro-suicide ideology for women.
