This edited book has 4 parts: 1) ethical & institutional background policy issues; 2) the patient’s situation; 3) legal & regulatory issues in assisted suicide & euthanasia; & 4) drug use in assisted suicide & euthanasia. The latter part of this volume presents position statements on euthanasia & assisted suicide from a number of organizations including the Academy of Hospice Physicians & the American Cancer Society. Commentaries on some case histories are also provided.
