This paper notes that suicide is a multidimensional malaise & that understanding is still the only key that allows approximate but sound suicide assessment & prediction. Clinicians have developed a wide-ranging approach including tests, interviews, observations, third party consultations, & use of personal documents. Concepts of lethality & perturbation are considered critical in one’s understanding. A list of suicidal signposts is presented.
