Suicide among Aboriginal peoples is significantly higher than for non-Aboriginal Canadians. This article describes a workshop that hopes to establish cultural tools that can aid in the healing & grieving process for Indian people who have lost someone through suicide. Healing using the cultural ways involves the Heart of Healing, prayer & the Medicine Wheel. Ceremonies such as the Round Dance, Tea Dance & Give Away, add meaning to an otherwise senseless loss, a tragic death.
