Back to Basics in Jail Mental Health Programming: Combining Knowledge, Common Sense, Creativity and Community

Jail administrators & other correctional staff are asked to redefine the concept & the responsibilities of the jail to reposition it as being just one of many service providers in the community. A discussion of the five myths of jail mental health programming, legal knowledge & moral considerations in program development, & general principles to advance either the overall design or evaluation of jail mental health programs is included.
