The author feels that aboriginal people have been denied the same legal rights, education & social privileges extended to other Canadian citizens. He examines the state of native affairs, past, present & future through dozens of unpublished cases of abuse. Chapter 4 explains how the Alberta town of Hobbema came to have one of the highest suicide rates in North America from 1980 to 1987. As oil & gas revenues poured into the town, the social upheaval was traumatic.
