Mirsky reviews the book Suicide and Homicide Among Adolescents. This book summarizes current research & theory in adolescent suicide & homicide. The authors cite the economy, povery and education, the size of the 15-24 cohort, and the availability of drugs & guns as reasons for the high suicide & homicide rate among youth in the US. Mirsky feels that the final pages on intervention & prevention strategies, while a good outline, is not as comprehensive as it could be.
