This report provides information on the health of Calgarians & on factors that determine or are strongly correlated with health. Suicide is the second highest cause of potential years of life lost for men & sixth for women in Calgary. Suicide was the leading cause of intentional injury during the period 1985-1990. Suicides accounted for the largest proportion of firearm deaths in Calgary in 1992/1993 & firearms were used in almost 50% of the suicides.
