Suicide survivorship is the experience of losing a significant other through suicide. Suicide has a physical, intellectual, social, spiritual & community impact. Methods & the importance of identifying suicide survivors are discussed. Survivor intervention has 3 phases. Primary intervention deals with the immediate trauma of loss. Secondary intervention deals with abandonment & stigmatization following loss. Tertiary intervention deals with community education & program implementation. (15 refs)
