This article reports on a coroner’s office investigation of 6 suicides involving military personnel in the Quebec City region (June 1993 to March 1995) & notes the suicides took place as a result of personal problems (depression, personal problems, marital stress, & alcohol), & were not connected to peacekeeping tours of duty. Data on military suicide rates since 1990 is noted. The article also discusses military programs dealing with critical incident debriefing & postraumatic stress disorder.
