This article provides data on increases in suicide by young males & reviews studies which have attempted to explain the basis for this trend. The explanations are clearly complex. The article dicusses youth with mental disorders, the linkages to substance abuse, association with unemployment, association with AIDS/HIV factors, availability of method, & broader social factors.
