In this short report, results of a 3-year study of 73 suicide attempters, 58 depressives & 60 normal controls are reported. It was found that attempters reported many more life events, especially marital & family discord & interpersonal problems, than did depressives or controls. Results are similar to those found in Western studies, except for the importance of problems with in-laws.
