This article describes 773 Danish suicide attempts followed for a 2-year period after their index attempt. 31% had made only 1 attempt. Nonrepeaters were compared to repeaters by age, & by sex & method of attempt, marital status, household composition, & normal & current occupational status. More repeaters were divorced & lived alone or alone with children. The groups clearly differed regarding economic activity, pointing to conditions possibly pertinent for intervention & aftercare.
