A little boy’s cat, Barney, dies. To help him with his grief, his mom says that they will have funeral for Barney & that he should think of ten good things that he can say about Barney. He can think of only nine things. Later his dad helps him to realize one more good thing – Barney will change until he becomes part of the ground & then he will help flowers grow. This story lets children know that it is OK to cry, to grieve & to remember.
