Effects of a Multi-Factor Education Program on the Attitude of Child and Youth Worker Students Toward Gays and Lesbians

A program addressing attitudes, behaviour & cognitions was designed to effect & maintain positive attitudes toward gay & lesbian youth by caregivers. 35 child & youth workers participated in 1 of two 6-hour programs – the experimental group examined gay/lesbian lives & a control group studied youth suicide. On post-test measures, experimental subjects had significantly more positive scores on affective & cognitive measures but did not differ on the behavioural measure. (28 refs, 2 appendices)
